Your Appointment

During your initial treatment a free 15 minute consultation will take place. The follow up treatments will only include a brief consultation.

Throughout the treatment you will remain fully clothed aside from socks and shoes. You will be asked to lie on the massage table in a comfortable position, with music playing in the background if you wish to help you fall into a deep state of relaxation.

Treatments generally last around 45 minutes, however shorter or longer treatments are available upon request. In some instances, such as where patients are particularly fragile or in the case of children, a shorter treatment may be advised as being more suitable.

In order to sustain these results, follow up treatments are recommended.

It can be used as a preventative, assisting in the journey of recovery or simply to maintain good health.

Stimulating the pressure points in the feet helps to activate the body’s own self-healing capacity, encouraging physical and emotional well-being by bringing your body back into its natural state of equilibrium. A miniature version of the body is represented in the feet, hands and face through reflex points. Reflexology is based on the concept that the body is connected by trails of energy. These pathways of energy are known as meridians and on a similar level, Longitudinal Zones, which were devised by Dr William Fitzgerald. These pathways link parts of the body such as the organs, glands and muscles from the fingers and toes.

Acupuncture and Reflexology are very similar in this respect as Acupuncturists believe that if pathways of trailing energy are disrupted or blocked, illness or pain will manifest. However, instead of using needles, the Reflexologist can apply pressure and massage to the reflex points along the meridian on the feet.

Reflexology is therefore, a non-invasive holistic therapy treating the body as a whole; it is by adopting this method and assessment which makes the treatment so valuable and beneficial. Your ailment must not be understood simply as a sore knee or a stiff neck but as a collaboration of many systems.

Our feet are the bond to the earth; they are the foundations of our body and help keep us supported in order to balance. Anything that deviates from their usual movement can hinder ordinary function. This can be mirrored within the body which can develop into tension in which imbalances manifest into the organs and the muscular skeletal system.
